Sailing in Windward Islands, though its eye-catching charter areas, will probably be one of your most spectacular journeys. The group of islands has a lot to offer to keen sailors. The Windward Islands are composed of the sovereign territories of Martinique, the Grenadines, Grenada, Saint Vincent, and Saint Lucia. Sailing the Windward Islands is best done between November to April. The average air temperature range from 22º to 30º C (72º to 86º F) and the water temperatures is between 20º and 23º C (68º and 74º F). The northeast trades blow steadily at a constant 15 to 25 knots.

Most sailing holiday start in St. Vincent or St. Lucia and sail to the south. If you start in St. Lucia I would recommend that you anchor in Anse des Pitons on the first night. Going back, you will be hard on the wind, so allow plenty of time to work your way up north to your return base.

Cruising your way in an ordinary charter area can be boring. But when you are sailing in Windward Islands, you will experience the best and the most exciting voyage of all. Specifically, routing your way to the island of St. Vincent will be both fun and daring. This is because it has tall and rugged mountains that are perfect for trekking. Its forests have lush vegetation and rich in fauna, which makes it an ideal place for hiking too.

Bequia has been considered by many local and international tourists as one of the most spectacular places in the region. When sailing in the Windward Islands, you should not miss Bequia. You can anchor in Friendship port. From there, you can enjoy its famous half moon beach. You can also explore around the islands several reefs. Aside from the beautiful beaches, Bequia also is known for its whaling boats that were carefully and diligently made by the locals. From this island, you can then %sail% towards Petite Nevis for that night swimming you always wanted.
